Start a new holiday tradition by collecting these lovely White House-themed Christmas ornaments

The White House Historical Association (a nonprofit founded in 1962) has released a collectible Christmas ornament with a different theme every year for more than a decade, each ornament honoring a different U.S. president from years past. Every ornament is hand designed, exquisitely detailed and presented in a gift box perfect for gifting or storing.

The newest addition to the collection is the 2017 annual White House Christmas Ornament that honors President Franklin D. Roosevelt and his remarkable journey to restore the faith of the American people. The eagle cartouche emblazoned on the speaker’s stand at President Roosevelt’s first inauguration is the inspiration for the main element of the 2017 ornament.

This collection has not been widely available despite its important historical significance. firstSTREET is pleased to make available at this time the most recent ornaments, along with the other additions to the collection. The 2016 ornament honors the administration of President Herbert Hoover and the fire trucks that responded to the 1929 Christmas Eve fire at the White House and the toy engines presented to the children by the Hoovers following Christmas. The 2015 ornament honors President Calvin Coolidge and the first National Chirstmas Tree Lighting in 1923. The 2014 ornament honors President Warren G. Harding with replicas of the steam locomotive and personal Pullman railroad car he used for his cross-country "Voyage of Understanding" speaking tour. The 2013 ornament honors President Woodrow Wilson by featuring an American elm he planted on the North Lawn of the White House on a snowy December day in 1913.

These ornaments are all uniquely beautiful and colorful, with 24K gold elements—a lovely addition to any Christmas tree. Each ornament comes with its own little booklet telling how and why each particular theme and design was chosen. The non-profit White House Historical Association was established in 1962 by the National Park Service, with the endorsement of Jacqueline Kennedy.
