Great Magnifier for Macular Degeneration

We purchased this magnifier for my father-in-law who has wet macular degeneration. Reading has become more of a strain and he would use a handheld magnifier that quickly became tiresome.
The magnifier was given to him as a gift when we spent several days with him at Christmas. We quickly saw how great it would work for him.
I was concerned that it only provided 2.5 magnification, but with the LED lights he says he can now read books, newspapers and magazines.
He loves the size of the magnifier, allowing him to see and read a full page.
He also loves having a hands free magnifier.
If you have macular degeneration and love to read, give this magnifier a try.

I purchased this item for a friend as a gift, she is a quilter. She is very impressed and just loves it. "Great for threading that pesky eye of the needle." I am ordering one for myself to see details when painting that even reading glasses can't see. Great item, handly for so many things. Thanks

We bought this for our 92 year old Mother as her eyesight is failing. She loves the fact that she can read an entire page from her books or newspaper

Optical Crystal Clarity, Fine Manufacturing Quality

This is the real deal with optical crystal clarity and fine manufacturing quality; I would expect to pay twice or more for this lighted full page magnifier.
The twelve high-powered LEDs are very bright white light and comfortable to the eyes. (LEDs last forever and burn very cool as well, so there's no annoying heat signature.) Reading is effortless and the page comes to life. There's definitely a Wow factor. The 2x magnification is sharp, made of optical quality polymer. Normally I've preferred optical glass, but this proves that quality polymers are the wave of the future. (Glass is heavier and would require a very heavy base to avoid tip-overs.) It seems like they really spared no expense on this item.
I'm also impressed by the ease of installation with precision fitting, the weighted base to prevent tip-overs (though not so heavy you must strain to lift it), long cord on AC adapter, easy maneuverability, and attractive contemporary design.
I think most buyers who appreciate quality and value in an age of cheap you-know-what will be very pleased with this beautiful and functional lighted full page magnifier. It will become your most treasured reading instrument!

This works particularly well for reading since it's adjustable I can sit it beside my chair and move it around depending on the angle of my book. It has one of those 'goosenecks', which isn't all that attractive, but is really helpful.

I'd been looking for a magnifier that was both on a stand and could handle an entire page at once. I had an adjustable mag that had a stand but it was an odd shape, more difficult to deal with and the lens didn't cover an entire book page. This works!

This full page magnifier is amazing. It's really great for reading especially. Also, you can increase magnification by moving the magnifier around a bit to adjust to your needs. So much better than my pocket magnifier that I was using to read.
